Kissing

Jillian has been watching "The Little Mermaid" nonstop. She loves the part at the end when Eric and Ariel get married and kiss each other. Josh was over last Friday night and Jillian dressed up as a bride. She said "Josh, you can be my prince, lets kiss." He held her hand so sweetly and they stood in front of the fireplace. Then, Jillian planted one on him. All of the adults were laughing, then we had to tell Jillian to stop kissing him. Josh looked at her and said (with a big smile on his face), "let's do that again!"

It's funny that the 2 kids that constantly fight with each other would want to kiss again! Needless to say, we put a stop to the movie role playing. After getting cute pictures, of course. I'm sure this will totally embarass her one day!

Jacob, Josh or Jackson

I guess either will go fine with Jillian. Obviously she likes the younger men! Time for the shotgun to get cleaned!

My baby in Pre-K?

You have to be kidding me?! How can my 3 pound baby be 4 years old already? She was so ready for school. She would have gone when she was 2 with Abby if I had let her. She has the same teacher at the same school as Abby had when she was in Pre-K. I really thought that I wouldn't cry because I knew she was ready to go to school and since I already knew the teacher, I thought for sure that I could hold it together. Then, they had that quiet time again and I prayed for my baby as I have done many times, but again, I could not choke back the lump in my throat. As I looked away from Jillian after the prayer, I noticed that I was not alone. Many Moms felt the same way. The teacher read the book "The Kissing Hand" and had us put a heart shaped sticker on their name tag and exchange hand kisses to get us thru the day. I was finally OK. I left the classroom and then started to get choked up again. So I got in the car and "got myself together". I drove 2 feet and pulled the car over and let the waterworks begin.

Any of you that know Jillian, know that she can handle her own in any situation, so I really wasn't worried about her. I just couldn't imagine where the time had gone. plus, she is my last baby and it was bitter sweet.

I picked her up from school and watched as the shortest one in the class walked like a big girl to the pole and waited for me to pull up. As I got closer I noticed she was sticking her tounge out at me. I had missed her?! I told her that I was sure she didn't like that school and that she wanted to stay at home with me forever (sarcastically of course). She immediatly said NOOOO! I said "did you have a good day, then"? She said, "yep, I didn't even get into trouble". I agreed, that was a good day!

Big First Grader

Abby was so excited for the first day of school! I have to say that I was a little aprehensive about her going all day to school. I really did kind of miss her. It's wierd not seeing her for a whole day. Jillian was pretty happy for the first couple of hours...no one to fight with, then she was ready for Abby to come home. Abby told us all about her day and especially the cafeteria. She loves being able to eat lunch there. She is in a different kind of first grade class called "Team Time". I will find out more about it on the parent information night. Apparently she will learn everything that the other 1st graders learn, but atleast 2 times a week she will be with the other team time kids (one in each grade) and learn things with these older kids. there is one team time class for every grade and unless we pull her out, she will be in team time for the rest of her elementary time. That means that she will already know who her 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade teachers are and will be used to working with them. Abby's Pre-K teacher said that this was really great and that she is glad she is in it. So far, Abby has only talked about the cafeteria and the kids in her class. All the papers she has brought home have had a perfect grade on them, so I guess I'm not concerned. I did cry when I dropped her off, but she didn't see. She just smiled and said "bye, Mommy"! I stayed for the rise and shine time in the gym (she was in the cafeteria last year. They have a little "quiet time" every day before they sing songs and then dismiss to class. This is a time where you can pray, meditate, or just have quiet time. I, of course started prayed for Abby to have a good day, make good choices, etc.... Then, I had to stop for fear that I wouldn't be able to hold myself together. When I picked her up, she was so excited and couldn't wait to go back. I'm glad to see that at least one of us was ready for her to go to all day school!

Graduation?

Well, it's official...my baby has graduated. Only from Kindergarten, hey, I'm not that old! Abby learned so many things being in the kindergarten class at church this year. She can look up books in the Bible by herself, recide the 12 apostles, 12 sons of Isreal, Days of Creation, and many more that I can't remember. i couldn't believe all that she had learned. Here are some pictures of the big day! It's off to first grade!

I know, I know

I'm very behind! I was doing well for a while, then we went on vacation, and I feel like I have been playing the catch - up game ever since. I will quickly catch you up on our summer fun and then I'm starting from present day! That way I don't feel too overwhelmed! The month of June it rained! It rained so much and we got so bored of being inside that one afternoon when it was raining, I put the girl's swimsuits on and let them play in the rain. When it started thundering and lightning, we came inside.
Our 4th of July was great! We went to the parade and then went to my parents house to eat lunch and play games. Jillian has been on a " I want to play the violin" kick, so my dad brought out the fiddle (or maybe violin...what is the difference?) that my Grandpa gave him. It is a youth size, but as you can tell, still too big for Jillian.

Then it was off to Branson. We met up with Steve's parents and his Aunt and Uncle. His Aunt and Uncle (Mary and Jerry) came from Michigan and brought their boat. Needless to say the first few days were mainly spent tubing, skiing, and trying to wake board. Tht is Steve riding the tube with Jillian. if you look closely you can see her little head. Steve and his dad and uncle went fishing alot and us girls spent most of our time with the girls in the swimming pool at the condo or shopping. i got the girls all ready for school at the outlet malls that they have there. Jillian got so exhausted one day that she fell asleep on my lap in the boat. My pedicure that I got before we left was in vain. On the 2nd day I ripped a nice chunck of my big toenail off with the tube and then stepped on a hinge in the boat wrong and got a nice open wound on the bottom of my big toe. Steve and I did go to the Titanic musuem together and really enjoyed it. We also saw a show with all broadway hits (my favorite) and saw the Twelve Irish Tenors. Both shows were great. While we were there we took the girls to Celebration City. Smaller and ALOT cheaper than Silver Dollar City. they had lots of rides for the kids and some really cool shows too. We really liked their night time show with lasers.

August was spent getting school supplies and getting ready for back to school. I think that catches me up to this week. Check out the next posts for the first day of school photos.

There!! You happy now all you people that have been bugging me about not updating?!

Just Kidding! :)
