Vegas, Baby!

I just got back from Vegas about a week ago. We went there for International Competition for our Sweet Adeline Chorus. I had a really good time. We came in 16th overall and won the Harmony Acheivement Award which is first place for choruses with less than 75 people on the risers (we had 73). The only thing I didn't like was the drinking, smoking and handing me pornography on the street. I must say they can do these 3 things anywhere! I did enjoy watching the light and water show at night at the Bellagio, and all of the shopping. I got Jillian a puppet from FAO Schwartz and I got Abby a snowglobe from the M&M world that is there. (The other types of snowglobes that I found would not have been appropriate for a 5 year old). In case you didn't know, Abby has started collecting snowglobes, so if you go somewhere and want to get her something, she would love to have it. Jillian really doesn't collect anything yet, but she really likes puppets and monkeys. I got Steve some cards that had been used at the casinos and I bought Leann some M&M's from the M&M world for taking care of the girls during the day while I was gone. All in all, our chorus did AWESOME and I got to have some fun times with kids my own age! :)

Cousins

We had the privelage of watching our two little nieces a few weeks ago (again, I know it's been a while). They had lots of fun. They went to Sonshine School with us, and got to watch Abby cheer at the Homecoming game. We went to church together and then it was time for their parents to come and get them. They will be moving to North Carolina soon with their 3 other brothers. We will miss having them around to play with. It's so nice to have cousins at the same age as you to play with. Abby enjoyed sleeping with Alyssa and Jillian liked having Loreli to sleep with. We had to threaten them the first 2 nights that they would have to sleep apart if they could not quit giggling and talking. After that they were so tired, we had no trouble putting them to bed. They were all really good at taking turns riding/driving the Barbie Jeep. They all LOVE to play outside. We also had a great time making homemade Birthday cards for Mom (Aunt Bethany). I think her best gift was getting to have all of her babies back with her though! Fun times!

Cheer Clinic

Abby went to a cheer clinic a while back (yes I know I haven't blogged in a long time). She was a little shy at first and then she was OK. She was really excited to show us her cheer and pom routine. She got to preform these with her age group at the local High School's Homecoming. It was so cute. I think we will do it again next year! It's kind of wierd. I just realized that Abby looks like the cheerleader in the picture. Did I just glimpse into the future? They really grow up too fast!

FAIR!!

Everyone loves a fair! Especially Abby. She had saved her Birthday money from April to ride rides at the Fair. Even with my broken toe we walked around the fairgrounds for 4 hours looking thru buildings and riding rides. Jillian, of course thought it was great. Abby was a little unsure of some of the rides, but Jilly was upset when we told her she wasn't tall enough to ride the "big rides"!
