Family Wedding

We just got back late last night from my cousin's wedding. It was outside at a wildlife center and it was beautiful! We did find it funny that the monkey's kept letting out a whoop whoop everytime they put the music on. I guess that just goes to show that the whole family was in attendance! :) It's always a fun time to see all of my family again. The girls love seeing my cousins kids that are the same age as them. Sarah seems to be a really sweet girl, and I think that her and Steven will be very happy! Congratulations!

Happy Birthday to Steve

Well, his actual birthday isn't until Monday, but I couldn't resit giving it to him early so that we could all play with it all weekend long. Yes, Steve now is the proud owner of a Wii. I don't know who was more excited: Steve or the girls. Abby said "I thought you were going to get it for my birthday, but I guess Daddy's is OK", when I told her what we got him. Thanks to my parents, and Steve's parents for helping out with the cost. We have been playing it all weekend, or atleast when we can get the kids to give us a turn!

Children of the Corn

Yes, if you know me well, you know that I occasionally call my children: Children of the corn. I know there is some scary movie with this title, and that is about all that I know. I have never seen the movie and I don't know why this phrase sticks in my mind. I usually say it when I need the girls to go somewhere with me and, of course, I have made up a little tune that goes with it. However, the reason for this post is this. Last weekend when we went grocery shopping, Steve picked up some corn (still in the husk). It was on sale for $.25 and we love corn. As he was shucking it (I think that is how you spell that), Abby came up and said: "Dad! There's corn in there!" We just started laughing and explained to her that this is how corn comes. She has seen it on the cob before, but never still in the husk. They got SO excited and helped us shuck them and boil them, and of course, eat them!
