DISNEY WORLD!!!!!

We had such a blast at Disney World last week! We went with my Mom and Dad and my Sister and her Husband. We stayed at the Polynesian resort right on the monorail to the Magic Kingdom. The girls loved the pool there. It was in the shape of a volcano with a slide coming down from the top to the bottom. We found out that if you put a life jacket on Jillian she thinks she can do anything by herself. Jillian went down the slide twice by herself while we were there. The first time she came down, she said that it was fun but she didn't want to do it again (she is so little that she came down sideways!). But after a couple of days of thinking about it, she went down it again by herself and loved it! Abby and I had a fun time going down it together, but on the 2nd day got told that it is one rider at a time. We took little speed boats out one day. They were alot of fun. Abby and Mom rode together, Dad and Jillian rode together, and Shannon and I rode one together. Steve got his wish and Cory took him sailing. The girls loved all the parks. It is strange to say, but even as long as we were there we didn't spend very much time at Animal Kingdom or Epcot. It was so convienent to ride the monorail to the Magic Kingdom that we went there alot. We ate at Epcot 3 times for dinner and saw the Spectromagic show (big fireworks show), but didn't ride too many of the rides. Everst at Animal Kingdom was really cool, but it rained almost the entire time we were there that day and we got sick of being wet, so we went back to the resort. Our resort was so awesome! We were in the side that has the consierge(sp?) service so there was constantly snacks out in the lounge and a wonderful turn down service at night! Abby woke up sick the second day we were there (threw up 3 times) so we decided to take her to an urgent care. I was thinking that if it was the flu that I could atleast get her the shot (that they can only give in the first 24 hours) so that she would have a milder case and that it wouldn't ruin our whole vacation. The Dr. said that it didn't appear that she had a virus. His best guess was that she either got too hot or that she ingested too much pool water the day before and the mix of chemicals and bacteria didn't agree with her stomach...duh! Oh well, I got her some pedialite and he gave me a Rx for a suppository if she continued to throw up. Luckily she didn't! We kept her out of the sun for the day and took her back out to see the fireworks show at MGM that night. The best part about the trip was eating lunch in Cinderella's castle. The girls got to meet all of the princesses and get their autograph. It was really very magical and I found myself getting choked up as I watched the expressions on their faces! Mom and Dad watched the kids for a couple of nights while Me, Steve, Shannon, and Cory took advantage of the parks that were having the extra hours those nights. Shannon and Cory bought us all Red Sox t-shirts to wear (they are from Boston). We got so many comments from oh, you're a Yankee fan to Go SOX! Abby also got to meet her favorite, Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable! She was SOOO excited! I'm sure there is so much more that happened that I could tell you about, but I'm surprised you are still reading!!! I'm going to have Steve make up a gallery with pictures and captions underneath so that you can see all the fun that we had. A friend of ours did that after she took a cruise and it was really neat! Thanks for the great idea, Kim! Needless to say, we had a GREAT time and cannot wait to go back. Now we are in what Steve calls PDD (Post Disney Depression). Until next time!

Let's Go Fly a Kite

OK, so now I've gone from having "fun" in the title to songs! We had a fun weekend! We went on Saturday to Mitch Park for the annual kite fest. The kids always love this one because they can make their own kite. They are sled kites, and let me tell you those suckers can fly even if there is barely wind. At $2 a kite, you can't beat the price. The people there help you put it together and let the kids pick out pictures that they would like to trace and color and then they let the kids pick out the color of tail to put on the bottom. The kids had a great time! Abby made a very detailed sun and Daddy helped her color it. Jillian colored a frog that she picked out and I traced for her. Then it was time to fly them.

Animal Planet

Ok, since Steve hasn't written about the Animal Planet at Mitch Park from 2 WEEKENDS ago, I thought I would post a few pictures. He took the girls by themselves and just happen to run into Jason Dean alone with his 2 girls, so they hung out together (I'm sure for reinforcement). Here are some of the pictures that Steve took of the festivities.

I'm a big bullfrog and God loves me!

I started to notice that all of my titles had the word "fun" in them, so I'm trying to get creative! Steve dug up our front flower bed last weekend. The builders didn't lay a tarp down first in the flower beds so we keep fighting weeds, small trees, grass, etc..I cleaned up the back porch and tried to make it look nice so that we will sit out there more often. As I was sweeping it off Abby came up to me and showed me that she had found a little frog. He was so cute! I told her to be very careful with him because if she squeezed him too hard he would die. She was very careful and even gave her sister a turn to hold him. At one point we thought the little guy had bit the dust, but he was fine! (No animals were injured in the making of this blog). Then Daddy found a big frog in the front flower bed. To my amazement Abby had a great time chasing him around the yard and picking him up. Jillian, my dare devil, was fine with the little frog, but the big one freaked her out a little bit. So it was decided that Jillian would have the little frog and Abby would have the big frog. Jillian named hers Sarah, of course. (That is what Jillian names everything when we ask her if something has a name). I don't believe that Abby named hers. We played with them for a while and then let them go back to their homes in the yard. It was pretty cute! Just to let you know how small the little frog is, Jillian is holding it in the picture.

Ballgame Fun

Well, I thought I would do better than weekly posts, but I guess I was wrong. So, I'll porbably end up doing several posts today just to keep up! We went to bricktown to a Redhawks game last Friday night. The church gave out 60 free tickets to those who signed up first. As you can see, the Sawyers were there and Abby and Merry hung out the entire game! We ate at the ballpark as a treat for the girls. We got pizza and then had Cotton candy before the fireworks. They all loved it and we had a great time. Jillian sat on Mom's lap the whole time. Even though it was a nice night, Jillian and mom both ended up putting their sweaters on and Jilly even covered up with a little blanket!
